So beschloss der 2011 inthronisierte Metropolit von Austria Arsenios, eine deutschsprachige Gemeinde zu gr\u00fcnden und setzte diesen Entschluss per Metropolitandekret im Jahr 2017 in die Tat um.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gleichzeitig reifte die Idee heran, das vom Hafnersteig ebenerdig zug\u00e4ngliche Kellergew\u00f6lbe der Adresse der Kathedrale zur Heiligen Dreifaltigkeit (Fleischmarkt 13) zu adaptieren. Mit Unterst\u00fctzung von dem Projekt gegen\u00fcber aufgeschlossenen Wohlt\u00e4tern wurden die notwendigen Schritte gesetzt, bis die R\u00e4ume soweit hergerichtet waren, dass sie am 27. Februar 2018 von Seiner Allheiligkeit dem \u00d6kumenischen Patriarchen Bartholomaios I. von Konstantinopel im Beisein Seiner Heiligkeit des Papstes und Patriarchen Theodoros II. von Alexandrien er\u00f6ffnet werden konnten.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seine Eminenz Metropolit Arsenios von Austria stellt seither der deutschsprachigen Gemeinde die Kapelle zum Heiligen Johannes Chrysostomos am Hafnersteig 8, 1010 Wien, f\u00fcr die sonnt\u00e4gliche Liturgie zur Verf\u00fcgung. Daher wies er der damals in Konstantinopel durchaus gro\u00dfen gotischen Gemeinschaft, die die Beschl\u00fcsse des Konzils von Niz\u00e4a angenommen hatten und damit in voller Glaubensgemeinschaft mit den Griechen standen, eine Kirche zu und setzte Seelsorger ein, die die Liturgie in der Muttersprache der Goten feierten. Von besonderem Interesse ist, dass Johannes Chrysostomos selbst immer wieder die Liturgie in der den Goten zugewiesenen Kirche zelebrierte bzw. die Predigt hielt, die f\u00fcr die Goten simultan \u00fcbersetzt wurde: In der Patrologia Graeca, tom. Jahrhundert stammende <strong>Kirche Panagia Kapnikarea<\/strong> im Herzen von Athen, die in ihrer Anlage auf einen Vorg\u00e4ngerbau aus dem 5. Jahrhundert zur\u00fcckgeht. Ikonostasen \u00e4hnlicher Art findet man in Athen weiters in der <strong>Kirche der Theotokos Gorgoepikoos und des Hl. Bunte Bodenmosaiken mit ornamentalen Mustern tragen wesentlich zu einem harmonischen Gesamteindruck der Kapelle zum Heiligen Johannes Chrysostomos bei.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ikonographie\"><\/span>Ikonographie<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a Oktober 2019 wurden an der linken Seitenwand des Narthex der Kapelle in vier Reihen (den vier Teilen entsprechend) die 24 Strophen (dem griechischen Alphabet entsprechend) des Hymnos Akathistos angebracht.
